Muskegon River Fishing Report
0 min read

The Muskegon river is seeing the first phase of the spring steelhead run, with new fish arriving from lake Michigan and “winter holdovers” preparing to spawn in the weeks ahead.
With warmer weather over the last week+, we’ve seen ice melt on the reservoirs in the Muskegon river system and a rise in river temperatures and levels.
With both fly fishing and conventional equipment setups, we’re targeting all kinds of different water right now and finding fish in varying “lies” in the river.
We’re looking forward to a good spring run this year and should see more fish come into the river system over the next month+. Presuming we don’t see a major warm up in mid to late April, we’ll likely have steelhead in the system into mid May.
Looking forward to the coming weeks and being on the river most every day through the first week of May at least….it was a LONG winter !
For now,
Jeff
