Harrington Inn – Freemont, MI – 231-924-3083 – Located a short drive from Newaygo, Harrington Inn offers a variety of options for accommodations, from a simple but well appointed room, to suites with office/technology amenities for those in need to staying “plugged in” so to speak. Continental breakfast, laundry services, exercise room, heated outdoor pool, etc..
Riverside Resort Motel -Croton, MI – 231-652-1292 – Located on Croton Pond, just up the road from Croton dam. Rustic “cabin” like décor, kitchens, cable TV, some adjoining rooms, conveniently located.
Muskegon River Retreat – Croton, MI – 720-270-3100 – Located on the river just down from the Pine St boat launch, this cabin has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and sleeps up to 4 people. Each bedroom has 2 twin beds, which can be used separately, or pushed together to make a king. It has a well equipped kitchen, as well as gas grill outside on the porch overlooking the river.
Muskegon River Inn – The Inn is a historic 1860s restored brick building in downtown Newaygo featuring a second-floor, moderately priced seven-room boutique hotel with room options ranging from double queen rooms to larger suites.

Red Moose Lodge – 888-939-6667 – Baldwin, MI – Located on the banks of the National Wild & Scenic Pere Marquette river, the lodge has a variety of rooms or cabins to fit everyone’s needs. Cabins are located off the lodge property, but still very close and a good fit for a small group or family. Lodge rooms have flat screen TV’s with Blue Ray players and include a continental breakfast in the Lodge Center.
Baldwin Creek Lodge – 231-745-4401 – Baldwin, MI – The lodge sits on the banks of the historic Baldwin river, home of the first German Brown trout introduction in the United States back in 1884. This 14 unit lodge has motel style rooms with multiple beds, as well as rental cabins for small groups or families. Amenities include cable, Wi-Fi, A/C and other small luxuries to make your stay enjoyable.
Barothy Lodge – 231-898-2340 – Walhalla, MI – This massive “compound” has 15 lodges/cabins on the property, which sits on 7 miles of the Pere Marquette river and range from 1 bedroom, to 9 bedrooms, for small groups to very large outings of 20 or more people. Each lodge has its own kitchen, fireplace, deck, and other amenities. Most lodges have a pool table, hot tub, washer and dryer, but NOT have televisions or telephones.
Outdoor Inn – 231-745-3137 – Baldwin, MI – This 11 unit motel is located on M-37, just south of Baldwin itself and offers clean, comfortable rooms, which include air conditioning, cable TV, coffeemaker, microwave, phone, refrigerator, and Wi-Fi.

Northern Trails – Located on M-82, about 6 miles west of US 131 – Daily specials, a nice place for a sit down dinner or just to grab a cold beverage and some good appetizers. Rather extensive menu with weekend specials that draw people from a several county region.
Smugglers Cove Restaurant – 231-652-1196 – Located on 88th st (M-82), which is off M-37, just south of Newaygo, on Hess Lake. Appetizers, salads, sandwiches, steaks, chicken, Mexican dinner platters.
Cronk’s Motel & Restaurant – 231-652-2508 – Daily buffet, salad bar, good mix of sandwiches, salads, burgers and more. Long time favorite, located just south of town, right on M-37.
Red Anchor Inn – 231-652-6675 – Seafood and nightly specials, salad bar, array of adult beverages as well. Located on Croton Dr, a short drive from Croton dam and within eyesight of the Driftwood.
Driftwood Bar & Grill – 231-652-2686 – Burgers, sandwiches, daily specials, salad bar, extensive bar, pool tables and shuffleboard !! On Croton Dr, just over the bridge on Croton Pond itself.

Naknek River Camp is owned and operated by Jim & Phyllis Johnson. Along with Jim’s brother Tom, they founded and operated Johnson’s Pere Marquette Lodge back in the 80’s, on the world famous Pere Marquette river in Baldwin, Michigan. For a great trip to Alaska, consider Naknek River Camp.
