Muskegon River Fishing Report – Newaygo, MI – December 29, 2015
- Father-son outing today with Ben leading the way with a nice, big, and bright Muskegon river Steelhead………
The Muskegon river remains above average flows for this time of late December, but slowly coming down over the last day+…this may change however, due to the rain/sleet/snow mix that hit most of west and north west Michigan over the last 24 hours.
We’re still chasing those steelhead around and finding some nice fish each day. Either fly fishing or light spin tackle setups are getting into not only steelhead, but resident Rainbow and Brown trout as well.
With decent temperatures in the forecast for the next near week, by late December standards, we’ll still have some good fishing to be had.
Present water temperatures from today in the 39-40 degree range.
