Muskegon River Steelhead Fishing Report – Newaygo, MI – December 27, 2015
The Muskegon river near Newaygo, MI is still flowing above average levels for this time of late December and is actually “fishing” more like early to mid December, than right on the heels of the New Year !
Both fly fishing and light spin tackle gear will work with present flows and for those who want to cast and retrieve streamers on a fly rod and sinking line or medium sink “tip” for resident Rainbow and Brown trout…. as well as a shot a steelhead, water temperatures are holding at a point where fish will still “chase”.
Present water temperature in the 40-41 degree range.
