Resident Rainbow and Brown trout are being caught as well and it’s still viable to consider stripping streamers for both trout and steelhead…..YES, strip streamers in late December for Muskegon river trout and steelhead….this is NOT a typo !
We are still fishing with both conventional and fly fishing setups, it’s a matter of what one wants and/or what may work better for that particular angler, on any given day. We have choices and they’re yours to make !
With the extended forecast calling for continued warmer than average temperatures, both day and night time, we will surely have solid steelhead fishing on the Muskegon river through January.
Present water temperature in the 41-42 degree range.
