Muskegon River Steelhead Fishing Report – December 9, 2015

Muskegon river fishing
A NICE Muskegon river male steelhead.

The Muskegon river near Newaygo, MI is still running a bit high for this time of early winter, but still fishing well for steelhead, as well as both resident Rainbow and Brown trout.

With both fly fishing and light spin tackle gear, we’re finding fish each day and the river is giving up some nice fish for early December.

Both steelhead and trout have been fished to quite heavily over the past week due to warmer than normal air and water temperatures, which makes it more pleasurable for all anglers, so we’ve have some river traffic here and there to fish around.

Present water temperature is still sticking between the low and mid 40’s.
