Muskegon River Fishing Report – November 9, 2016 – Newaygo, MI

Muskegon river steelhead

Steve with a great Muskegon river fall steelhead.

with above average water temperatures, we’re not finding any bunched up here or there throughout the river.  Water temps are pretty much the same from Newaygo to Muskegon, so we’ll be looking for some colder weather and ANY rain that we can muster up, to bring river conditions back around.

Jeff with a very healthy, chunky and spunky fall steelhead from the Muskegon river.

With both fly fishing and some light spin tackle setups, we’re chasing “fall Chrome” through the rest of November, December and likely into early January based on how “late” our fall season has been in general in most of the Midwest.

Present water temperature in the 51-52 degree range throughout much of the river.
