Muskegon River Fishing Report – November 25, 2107 – Newaygo, MI

Spencer, from IN, with a rather acrobatic Muskegon river fall steelhead caught today.
The Muskegon river fishing report for November 25, 2107 in the Newaygo, MI area is about fall steelhead and lake run Brown trout. Come mid to late November, our fall steelhead are joined by lake run Brown trout who are coming in from lake Michigan on their annual spawning run.
The fall steelhead run in general this fall has been spotty, with some fairly good days of fishing, followed by others that are slower than we’re used to come this time of year, but we’re still finding fish.
With river levels above average and water temperatures holding in the low 40’s, “conditions” overall are good for more steelhead to come into the river in the weeks ahead.

Mark fished with Spencer today and got into some fish as well.
With both fly fishing and light spin tackle equipment, we’re catching not only steelhead and a few lake run Brown trout here and there, but also resident Brown and Rainbow trout.
Present water temperature in the 42-43 degree range.
