Muskegon River Fishing Report – November 2, 2017 – Newaygo, MI

Tom, from Wyoming, with one of his incredibly fast fall steelhead from today.
The Muskegon river fishing report for November 2, 2017 in the Newaygo, MI area is about the heart of the fall steelhead season setting in !
The river is in good condition with regards to flows and visibility and we’re catching both fall run steelhead, along with resident Brown and Rainbow trout.

Mark came from Montana to fish with Tom and some friends for a few days and got into some great fish of his own today !
With both fly fishing and light spin tackle setups, we’re fishing specific runs to get into fish and some of the fall steelhead this year have endless gas tanks and can peel off a LOT of line quickly.
With a delayed “fall” season overall due to warmer than average weather in late September and early to mid October, we’ll see our steelhead season on the Muskegon river go well into the new year.
Water temperatures have been slowly dropping and is presently in the 52-53 degree range.
