Muskegon River Fishing Report – Newaygo, MI – May 27, 2015

The Muskegon river is running above average flows at this time after a big jump in water levels late this morning.

Fishing had been pretty good prior to the jump in water level, but shut down today due to the quick and drastic change in flows.

Indicator nymph fishing for rainbow and brown trout has been productive, as well as streamer fishing and swinging wet flies when weather and water levels are good for it.

We’re having some fair-good cinnamon caddis and sulphur hatches later in the afternoon and this should improve in the days ahead.

Present water temperature in the upper 50’s.
