The Muskegon river near Newaygo, MI is running near average flows at this time, after having run above average for the past couple weeks due to warmer than average temperatures and a combination of snow melt and rains that put a good amount of water into the river.
Both steelhead and resident Brown and Rainbow trout are being caught now, with various techniques being used.
With water temperatures in the 35 degree range, fish are still fairly active the bite has been good as of late.
I’m BACK ON THE RIVER next week……..yeaaaah ! After 6+ weeks of post elbow surgery re-hab, I’ll be getting back to the river when conditions allow.
