Muskegon River Fishing Report – Newaygo, MI – April 28, 2016
The Muskegon river in Newaygo, MI is running a bit above average flows for late April due to the heavy rains that came through last night and today, which put a lot of new water in the entire river system.

Byron, form Louisville, KY with a great Muskegon river steelhead from today.
We are still targeting spring run steelhead, as well as resident Rainbow and Brown trout. With both fly fishing and light spin tackle gear, we are catching fish in all kinds of different water. From fast moving riffles, to slower bends with good structure, both trout and steelhead are in both.
With a cool weather front that’s upon us, it will likely keep water temps from rising much in the days ahead and we’re sure to see some additional steelhead come in from lake Michigan….how many is the magic question ??
Present water temperatures in the 49-50 range.
