The Muskegon river fishing report for March 15, 2018 in the Newaygo, Michigan area is about the 2018 spring steelhead run, which is under way.
Lake Michigan steelhead will continue to migrate up the Muskegon river on their annual spawning run for the next near 2 months.
With both fly fishing and light spin tackle equipment, we target pre-spawn fish in the staging water they occupy this time of March.

Michael with a great one of his own !
Fantastic day with the McDonald fella’s, thanks again guys !
With water temperatures having cooled back down to the mid 30’s recently due to colder night time air temperatures, fishing this same type of water over the next week+ will produce fish.
Present water temperatures are in the 35-36 degree range.
