Muskegon River Fishing Report – June 19, 2018 – Newaygo, Michigan

The Muskegon river fishing report for June 19, 2018 in the Newaygo, Michigan area has a mix of fishing for resident Brown and Rainbow trout, as well as Smallmouth bass.

With river levels coming up due to the extreme rains that fell in the upper reaches of the Muskegon river watershed, we could be in for another change in flows in the next day or so.

We’re using both fly fishing and light spin tackle equipment to pursue both trout and bass, it’s a matter of personal preference most of the time, except when targeting trout feeding on the surface, then it’s all fly gear and dry fly fishing.

We have some rather mild weather coming our way in the days ahead and this will help with overall fishing conditions.

Present water temperature in the 67-69 degree range.
