Muskegon River Fishing Report – August 12, 2022 – Newaygo, Michigan
1 min read
The Muskegon river fishing report for August 12, 2022 in the Newaygo, Michigan area continues to focus on the Smallmouth Bass fishing we’re doing down river from Newaygo itself.
Despite some erratic changes in river levels over the last couple weeks, it has been fishing good ! Click HERE for current Muskegon river water flow data.
With both fly fishing and light spin tackle equipment, we’re catching fish with both topwater flies and lures, as well as subsurface offerings of general “attractor” colors, as well as bait fish and crayfish imitations.
The current forecast over the next handful of days shows some rains possible first of the week and with considerably lower day and night time air temperatures. Click HERE for current and forecasted weather for the Newaygo area.
We’re fast approaching the tail end of the Smallmouth season for me and coming up on the first outings for early run Chinook salmon on the Pere Marquette river. If any are considering such a trip, know that I only have a couple days prior to Labor Day open and my entire September is booked.
Feel free to call with any questions – 616-560-3195.
Good Fishing….!
Jeff
