The Muskegon river near Newaygo, MI is running a little above average flows for this time of summer and remains cooler than normal for mid July.
Trout fishing is good on any given day, but not consistent as water temperatures approach 70.
Smallmouth bass fishing is picking up, pictured is Dr. Matt, from KS, with a thick Muskegon river “smally”.
Present water temperatures just below 70.
